Browns name Robert Griffin III as their starting quarterback

Shockingly (not really), the Browns named a new starting quarterback, Robert Griffin III. Griffin had to compete with Josh McCown, Cody Kessler, and Austin Davis. Griffin will look to become just the second Browns QB since Tim Couch in 2001 to start at 16 games.

Griffin burst onto the scene in his last year at Baylor, where he lead his team to upsets of Oklahoma and TCU on his way to the Heisman trophy. The Redskins drafted him second overall, and Griffin led the Redskins to the playoffs in his first year. Knee injuries derailed his career from there, leading to Kirk Cousins eventually taking over as the starter.
