In preparing for Sunday night’s matchup against the Buffalo Bills, Buffalo Rumblings’ Matthew Byham and I sat down for a Q&A for one another’s publications.
Entering the 2024 season, many predicted the Bills to take a step back. Not that they were presumed to be terrible, but they surely weren’t expected to be the NFL’s best. After Week 3, they’re first in Total DVOA, No. 1 in offensive DVOA, No. 2 in RZ TD%, etc. What did the pundits get wrong? What has them dominating?
I choose to believe that those pundits prematurely hung their hat on a faulty narrative, buying into the idea that losing players such as Tre’Davious White, Jordan Poyer, Micah Hyde, Mitch Morse, Gabe Davis, and of course Stefon Diggs meant certain doom.
