The preseason opener against Carolina was our first look at the rookies of the 2016 draft. Many of the rookies impressed, especially on the defensive line. The Ravens were consistently overpowering the Panther’s offensive line with their front seven. Fifth-round draft pick Matt Judon stood out as someone who could potentially become a star.
The rookie defensive end led the Ravens in tackles with seven, also tallying one sack. Judon’s speed and explosiveness off the line were particularly impressive. He was able to penetrate the Panthers’ offensive line with ease. Judon shed blockers and got into the backfield consistently throughout the game.
