When the Baltimore Ravens drafted Marquise Brown 25th overall in the 2019 NFL Draft the expectations for him were pretty high. The Ravens have drafted a wide receiver in the first round just three other times in the franchise’s history, none of which panned out very well. The pressure was on for the man dubbed “Hollywood” to translate to the next level.
The odds were stacked against him, as Brown was coming off foot surgery that involved placing a screw in his foot during the 2019 offseason. Brown was expected to be significantly slowed down and contribute very little if at all during his rookie season.
