The Baltimore Ravens were going to be done with Alex Lewis one way or the other. The Ravens could have just released Lewis. Instead they traded him to the New York Jets. While reports indicate that all the Ravens got was a conditional seventh round pick, that’s getting something out of nothing.
Lewis was recovering from a shoulder injury adding to the fact that injuries were the story of his career. When Lewis was finally cleared to get to practice, he was shipped off. The timing is not surprising. The Ravens had been planning this move.
