The Baltimore Ravens have had their first major cut with Alex Lewis. Cutting Jordan Lasley and Quincy Adeboyejo wasn’t a big deal. That was happening one way or another. Cutting Lewis, an off and on starter, is certainly news worthy.
Lewis began camp sidelined, recovering from shoulder surgery. The Ravens may have decided that he was a lost cause. Injuries were clearly his downfall. Since being drafted in 2016, Lewis has started just 18 games.
Lewis was thought to be in the running for the starting left guard job. Even with injury concerns and an up and down level of performance, Lewis was one of Baltimore’s most experienced left guards.
