CINCINNATI -- Anthony Averett became the latest Baltimore Ravens cornerback to suffer a significant injury.
Averett was ruled out of Sunday's game against the Cincinnati Bengals after sustaining a chest injury in the first quarter. He was holding his left side as he was carted off the field.
A fourth-round pick in 2018, Averett stepped up to start 13 games this season for the Ravens, who have already lost Pro Bowl cornerbacks Marlon Humphrey (torn pectoral muscle) and Marcus Peters (torn ACL) to season-ending injuries. There are also two Ravens cornerbacks who are on the reserve/COVID-19 list: Jimmy Smith and Chris Westry.
