Avoiding the Injury Bug

The Ravens are determined not to have injuries derail another season.

Coach John Harbaugh and his staff are analyzing ways to prevent players from being sidelined and plan to change the way they practice.

It’s a proactive step for a team that had 19 players finish last season on Injured Reserve, including several key starters.

“We’re going to approach OTAs differently,” Harbaugh said at this week’s owner meetings. “We’re going to approach training camp, some big-picture schedule differently in terms of the way we ramp and in terms of the way we time practices, how long we’re on the field and what we’re doing on the field and how we pace the rhythm of the practices.
