The Baltimore Ravens are adding another new quarterback, as the team will sign former Houston Texans QB Ryan Mallett. It's the third time in the past month the team has added a QB to the active roster.
Mallett completed 53 percent of his passes this season for 770 yards, 3 TDs and 4 picks. He started a few games for the Texans, but was cut after missing a team flight.
The Ravens turned to Matt Schaub when starter Joe Flacco was injured, but Schaub himself was hurt. That forced the Ravens to start Jimmy Clausen only a few weeks after signing him. Bryn Renner is also on the active roster.
Clausen completed 23 of 40 passes for 274 yards and a pick in his start for the Ravens. In his two games for the Ravens, Schaub completed 52 of 80 passes for 540 yards, 3 TDs and 4 interceptions. Renner has not made an appearance.
The news was first reported by ESPN's Dianna Marie Russini. The Ravens will need to make a corresponding roster move to make room for Mallett. They have yet to do so.
