When the Baltimore Ravens added Eugene Monroe, they expected him to protect Joe Flacco's blindside. He didn't have the greatest season last year, but the Ravens are expecting to play like Eagles offensive tackle Jason Peters this year.
"I tell everybody, Eugene’s going to be like Jason [Peters]," offensive line coach Juan Castillo told the Baltimore Sun. "It takes him a year to feel comfortable with the team, then they come back and play really well.”
Castillo is familiar with Peters, having coached him in Philadelphia.
Comparing Monroe to Peters is high praise, since Peters has been one of the best left tackles since getting to Philadelphia a few seasons ago.
