The Baltimore Ravens face the Indianapolis Colts, in a battle of two teams trying to gain footing in the AFC through the first third of the season.
Both teams looked sloppy early on, committing turnovers on four consecutive possessions - the Colts turning it over on downs, with the Ravens fumbling it back on the next play and then fumbling on a punt return the following drive. Andrew Luck then threw an interception two plays later.
The Colts added a field goal late in the half, extending their lead to 6-0 after an offensive pass interference negated a T.Y. Hilton touchdown grab.
The Ravens finally got on the board with a Justin Tucker field goal from 52 yards out to end the half.
Biggest Play: The Ravens elected to go for it on a fourth and goal from the Colts' one yard line.
Flacco tried to roll out to the right side looking for a receiver, but the Colts defense closed on him in a hurry, sacking him and giving the ball back to the offense with a 3-0 lead.
Biggest Surprise: With how well these offenses played last week, the fact that this game is just 6-3 at halftime is unexpected.
Both offenses have combined for six points and three turnovers - as well as two failed fourth down conversions.
Ravens Key Player: The Ravens had 133 yards of offense in the first half, so it's obvious that no one had a great performance.
Joe Flacco is 8/13 for 113 yards and hasn't turned the ball over, which is an accomplishment with how this game has gone.
Colts Key Player: There really isn't any player deserving of this spot, but Reggie Wayne leads the Colts with five catches for 45 yards. It was not a pretty first half for the offense.
Who Has the Edge?
With how poorly both teams have played so far, neither team has a clear edge at the half. Whichever team can clean up the offense first will have the advantage, but at this point it's tough to tell if either team can even do that.
