The Baltimore Ravens surprisingly hold the No. 6 overall pick in the NFL Draft after a down season that was ruined by numerous injuries. However, it also gives them the chance to add a major contributor that can make an immediate impact. They can't afford to waste this situation. It's not often a team with Super Bowl potential gets a chance to add a Top 10 pick. Here are three players the Ravens should target in the first round:
3. Laquon Treadwell, WR, Ole Miss Rebels
WR was a more pressing need earlier this season, when Steve Smith was still going to retire and before Kamar Aiken stepped up. However, Smith won't play much longer, Aiken isn't a No. 1 option and Breshad Perriman is still an unknown. Treadwell has a skill set that the Ravens don't currently have on their roster. A red zone threat, Treadwell could be the perfect partner for Perriman. Treadwell is at least worth considering if the Ravens' top two targets are somehow off the board. 2. Vernon Hargreaves III, CB, Florida Gators
This spot came down to Hargreaves and OSU DE Joey Bosa. Both would fill needs, but Hargreaves gets the nod because Bosa isn't an ideal fit in the Ravens' 3-4 scheme. Hargreaves has the potential to be a true lock-down corner, something the team needs across from Jimmy Smith. Hargreaves is definitely worth the No. 6 overall pick and there's a solid chance he'll be on the board. For more on the Ravens' draft plans, check out the Chat Sports Android and iPhone app.
1. Jalen Ramsey, DB, Florida State Seminoles
It's not clear if Ramsey is part of the next generation of bigger corners, or better off at safety. Either way, he's a great fit for the Ravens and the type of versatile player they love. Secondary is a major need, and Ramsey could step in right away. He's a true playmaker at either position. Ramsey is worth a top 5 pick and landing him would be big for the Ravens. Of all the players on this list, Ramsey is the most likely to be selected before the Ravens' pick. For more on Ramsey, check out the Chat Sports and iPhone app.
