CHICAGO -- Welington Castillo smacked his first career grand slam and recorded a career-best five RBIs as the Orioles snapped their six-game losing six, and an 0-11 mark on the road, with a 10-6 win over the White Sox at Guaranteed Rate Field on Wednesday night.
White Sox right-hander Miguel Gonzalez sat through a 90-minute rain delay before surrendering a season-high eight runs -- his most since June 25, 2016, at Toronto -- with seven of those runs coming in the fourth and fifth innings. He loaded the bases in each of those frames, allowing three to score in the fourth on a fielder's choice and a two-run single to Hyun Soo Kim before serving up the slam to Castillo in the fifth.
