Morning, Birdland!
Four years is an eternity in professional sports. Players get “old” quick. Contracts run out. Reality sets in. And soon, a vivid memory turns gray.
Can you believe it’s been four years since the Delmon Young double? You know which one. The two-base hit that is imprinted on the brain of every Orioles fan. The lined shot down the left field line that paved the way for the then-AL East champions to cruise into the 2014 ALCS.
Four years, 1,461 days (you have to count the leap year!).
There are just two players left from that postseason roster, and that number could quite possibly be down to one, or even zero, by the time Opening Day 2019 rolls around.
