BALTIMORE -- Orioles second baseman Jonathan Villar (Villi) made a sliding catch to rob the Yankees' Ronald Torreyes of a hit to begin the fifth inning on Friday night at Oriole Park.
Villar ran from the infield to short right, slid and caught the ball. He juggled it for a moment but held on, doing a tumble. The opener of a four-game series was tied, 2-2, through five innings.

Acquired from the Brewers in the July 31 trade that sent Jonathan Schoop (Mamba) to Milwaukee, Villar is trying to make an impression on the Orioles for 2019.
