Rookie right-hander Tyler Wilson knows the drill by now: Pitch as well as you can whenever you get the opportunity in the big leagues so the Orioles keep bringing you back when a need arises.
The need was there Monday and the 25-year-old Virginia native answered the call again, pitching into the eighth in the Orioles’ 9-2 blowout of the Oakland A’s.
Wilson hadn’t appeared in the big leagues since June 19 and hadn’t made a start since his first in the majors on May 28, but he again showed no nerves Monday, changing speeds and attacking the strike zone with his 90-mph fastball.
