Granted, it’s really hard to lose a 20-game winner in Spencer Strider and last year’s NL MVP, Ronald Acuña, and still play superlative baseball. But Atlanta has lost six of their last ten, including three of four to the Nationals. Huh. The trouble seems to be a soggy offense. They’re tenth of 15 NL teams in runs scored, and no one in the lineup other than Marcell Ozuna is really hitting the ball hard right now.
Despite the fact that pitchers’ elbows seem to be exploding all over the league, Atlanta still has an impressive stable of starting pitching.
