Tuesday Bird Droppings: Where it’s 35 years since the last Orioles championship

Good morning, Camden Chatters.

While we sit around bored in Birdland, wondering when the Orioles will find new leadership, and wondering how long after that it’ll be until the O’s are back in the playoffs, today marks the 35-year birthday of the Birds’ last World Series championship. It’s now old enough to run for president!

Though I was just one year old at the time — and thus the significance was lost on me — I know a lot of you can surely remember Oct. 16, 1983, when the Orioles beat the Phillies, 5-0, in Game 5 to wrap up the Series.
