ANAHEIM -- Mark Trumbo rejoined the Orioles on Tuesday, as expected, with the designated hitter activated from the disabled list pregame as part of several roster moves.
The O's also placed Luis Sardinas on the DL with a lower back injury and recalled Engelb Vielma from Triple-A Norfolk. They optioned outfielder Joey Rickard after Sunday's game to clear a second roster spot.
Trumbo has been sidelined since Spring Training with a quad injury and made his season debut in front of a home crowd of sorts, as he started his career with Anaheim and grew up just 10 minutes from Angel Stadium.
