Trumbo leaning toward knee surgery

BALTIMORE -- Orioles outfielder Mark Trumbo is leaning toward having surgery on his right knee. Trumbo went on the disabled list Aug. 20 due to inflammation, and he's going to Northern California for another opinion on the knee Aug. 29.

"I don't have anything totally conclusive. I needed to speak with a few people today," Trumbo said.

On his trip, Trumbo said he "will receive a few additional inputs before deciding what exactly makes the most sense." Trumbo, who is batting .261 with 17 home runs and 44 RBIs, missed the first month of the season with a strained right quad.
