BALTIMORE -- #BrittonWatch is over. The Orioles sent closer Zach Britton to the Yankees in exchange for a trio of prospects -- pitchers Dillon Tate, Cody Carroll and Josh Rogers -- on Tuesday night.
Tate, 24, is the centerpiece of the deal. Scratched from his scheduled Double-A outing, the righty was New York's No. 9-ranked prospect, according to MLB Pipeline.
Britton, who has made eight consecutive scoreless appearances, hit 97 mph with his trademark sinker in his last outing, and his market value has skyrocketed.
