Thursday's Orioles lineup: Adam Jones bumped down to fifth

Adam Jones is batting .196 this season, and .030 in his career against White Sox starter John Danks. He moves down to fifth in the Orioles lineup tonight.

Yesterday's win against the Rays notwithstanding, the Orioles offense is still in a major slump, as are particular members of that Orioles offense. Each day, manager Buck Showalter is adjusting the lineup to try to get the best configuration that he can. Thursday's game brings another new look.

Facing White Sox lefty John Danks means that the O's go with their "against lefties" lineup - which is to say that Pedro Alvarez is once again on the bench, with Mark Trumbo the designated hitter, Nolan Reimold in left field, and Joey Rickard in right field.
