Hello, friends.
The Orioles! They’re back in first place, so for today at least, things can be more cheerful in Birdland. The combination of the Orioles beating the Blue Jays and the Yankees splitting a doubleheader with the Angels has set the standings with the O’s and Yankees tied atop the East - except until the two teams play again, the Orioles hold the head-to-head tiebreaker, so they’re actually ahead. That’s fun.
Wednesday’s win over the Jays was also fun! There were some frustrating defensive miscues, concentrated mostly around rookie Coby Mayo. That part wasn’t fun. Recent acquisition Trevor Rogers worked around that trouble to have a decent outing.
