Davis salary drive shifts into fifth gear: Chris Davis took his personal fireworks show on the road late Monday night, launching a mammoth three-run home run in the first inning of the series opener against the Oakland Athletics at whatever they call that stadium these days.
Davis also made two strong defensive plays in that first inning, showing his all-around athletic talent early enough in the game for even east coast general managers to take a look before they hit the sack.
Davis already has exceeded last year’s run-production totals and is on track to hit 42 home runs and pile up more than 115 RBIs.
