The Baltimore Orioles will host "Thanks, Brooks Day" at Oriole Park at Camden Yards on Saturday to honor the 45th anniversary of Brooks Robinson's retirement.
Robinson spent 23 seasons with Baltimore from 1955 to 1977. The former third baseman holds the record for most Gold Gloves by a position player with 16, was an 18-time All-Star and named the American League's Most Valuable Player in 1964.
The Orioles held its first "Thanks, Brooks Day" on Sept. 18, 1977, at Memorial Stadium, the year Robinson announced his retirement. Robinson was selected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame six years later in 1983.
