Shoulder Injury Forces Tillman From Starting Orioles Opener

Chris Tillman has pitched three straight Orioles season openers. He's not going to make it four, reports The Baltimore Sun's Peter Schmuck.

NEWS ALERT: Buck Showalter says Chris Tillman won't be ready to pitch by Opening Day because of shoulder issue that bothered him last year.

Showalter said the best-case scenario sees Tillman ready on April 9.

The last Orioles pitcher to throw three straight Opening Day starts was Mike Mussina, who did it from 1994 to 1996 and again from 1998 to 2000.
