Gunnar Henderson and Jordan Westburg provided the 4th of July fireworks, but a bullpen implosion doomed the O’s in a 7-3 Independence Day loss to the Mariners.

The defining inning of the game came in the bottom of the 7th with the game tied 2-2. Bryan Baker entered to relieve starter Corbin Burnes, and immediately found himself in trouble. Seattle’s two-time All-Star Julio Rodríguez greeted Baker by ripping a lead-off double into CF. Ty France and Mitch Haniger then walked to load the bases with one out. Baker was able to punch out Ryan Bliss to get the Orioles one out away from escaping the jam.
