BALTIMORE -- Manny Machado made sure his locker was handed down to best friend Jonathan Schoop when the former was traded from the Orioles. It seems that locker has provided Schoop with magical -- and emotional -- powers.
In the third inning Tuesday against the Red Sox, Schoop clobbered the first pitch he saw -- a hanging curveball from Drew Pomeranz -- a projected 414 feet by Statcast™ for his fourth homer in the past five games.
The two-run home run gave the Orioles a 2-1 lead and continued Schoop's red-hot play since the All-Star break.
