Good Morning, Birdland,
When the Orioles traded for Zach Eflin two weeks ago, it felt important. He was a veteran with a solid track record that had recently been quite good in the AL East and was under contract through 2025. It made a ton of sense.
Now, through three starts, the Eflin addition looks even better. The 30-year-old is 3-0 in his Orioles career with a 2.33 ERA, 167 ERA+, 3.07 FIP, and 1.086 FIP. He has struck out 17 and walked only two in 19.1 innings. That includes what may have been the best start of his entire season last night.
