SARASOTA, Fla. -- Jimmy Paredes was sporting a plastic cast in the clubhouse on Friday morning, and the outfielder said he's not sure how long he will be out after being diagnosed with a left wrist sprain the day prior.
"I don't know how long it will take for me to be ready," Paredes said. "I'm a little sad, because I came into the spring with the opportunity to make the team. We'll see later."
Paredes suffered the injury in the second inning Thursday while trying to catch a blooper by Tampa Bay's Logan Forsythe, as his wrist awkwardly bent back when he slid to try to catch the eventual double.
