SARASOTA, Fla. -- Chris Tillman will start the Orioles' season opener, with manager Buck Showalter announcing on Monday that the right-hander will be the Opening Day starter.
Tillman, who has been the team's Opening Day starter the past two seasons, will face the Twins in Baltimore on April 4. He is coming off a 2015 season in which he went 11-11 with a 4.91 ERA in 31 games.
The soon-to-be 28-year-old is a year removed from his best season in '14. Tillman went 13-6 that year, with a 3.34 ERA, and he was a late addition to the American League All-Star team.
