DETROIT -- Orioles legend Brooks Robinson celebrated his 80th trip around the sun on Thursday, and the O's honored him with a barrage of messages, including a team rendition of "Happy Birthday."
Baltimore manager Buck Showalter said that despite the generational gap, players certainly understand Hall of Famer Robinson's immense talent and his impact on the game.
"They [understand it] in our locker room," Showalter said. "If you wear our uniform, you do, because you're constantly being talked to about it. And you've only got to spend like five minutes around [Robinson] to realize what an endearing guy he is.
