The Orioles are expected to announce several draft signings today – assuming the result of physical exams are approved -- and that group should be led by the club’s second pick in the 2015 draft, according to an industry source.
Ryan Mountcastle, a 6-foot-4, 190 pound shortstop selected 36th overall out of Oviedo High School in Florida, has agreed to terms pending the approval of a physical taken Monday.
Mountcastle batted .500 with two home runs and 22 stolen bases in 84 at-bats as a high school senior this year. Terms of the pending agreement have not been announced, but the suggested salary slot for the 36th spot is $1.
