NEW YORK -- The Orioles placed outfielder Hyun Soo Kim on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to July 11, on Tuesday and called up outfielder Julio Borbon from Double-A Bowie. Baltimore also designated outfielder Henry Urrutia for assignment.
In 10 seasons in Korea, Kim said through a translator on Monday that he's never missed as much time due to injury as this year. Kim hasn't played since leaving a game against the Angels on July 10 with a right hamstring strain.
Before the injury, Kim had established himself as a solid contributor for a strong offense.
