O's Jones sits out due to sore rib cage

BALTIMORE -- Adam Jones was not in Baltimore's starting lineup Thursday as the center fielder is "a little sore in the rib-cage area," according to manager Buck Showalter, who didn't want to use the word oblique.

Jones apparently first felt the injury on his last at-bat in Wednesday's 4-2 win over the Twins. The outfielder was bent over in pain for quite some time after striking out in the eighth inning, but he remained in the game.

O's know they have 'evolved' vet in Gallardo
Yovani Gallardo strikes out four over five innings and allows just one run on two hits and three walks
