For years, Brian Roberts served as a spark plug for the Orioles. Now the former second baseman will be honored alongside Baltimore legends.
The Orioles announced Thursday that Roberts has been elected as the newest member of the club's Hall of Fame. Longtime radio broadcaster Fred Manfra will also be inducted this summer as the 2018 Herb Armstrong Award winner. The pair will be publicly inducted during an on-field ceremony before the Orioles' matchup against the Red Sox on Aug. 11 at Oriole Park at Camden Yards.
Roberts is the all-time leader in virtually every major offensive category among Orioles second basemen.
