The Baltimore Orioles have traded left-hander Brian Matusz to the Braves in exchange for a pair of Minor League pitchers -- Brandon Barker and Trevor Belicek -- the club announced Monday evening.
Matusz, 29, has spent his entire eight-year Major League career with the Orioles, the team that selected him fourth overall in the 2008 Draft. He owns a 27-41 record and a 4.85 ERA through 279 games (68) starts with Baltimore.
Matusz has struggled this season, allowing eight earned runs through seven relief appearances over six innings.
Both Barker and Belicek are former 16th round Draft picks of the Braves from 2014 and 2015, respectively.
