BALTIMORE -- #BrittonWatch is over. The Orioles have agreed to a deal that will send closer Zach Britton to the Yankees in exchange for a trio of prospects -- pitchers Dillon Tate, Cody Carroll and Josh Rogers -- multiple sources told MLB.com on Tuesday night.
The trade is not official and has not been confirmed by either club. The Orioles are notoriously cautious in reviewing medical records, so an official announcement might not come Tuesday night.
Tate is the centerpiece of the deal. Scratched from his scheduled Double-A outing, the righty is listed as New York's No 9 prospect, according to MLB Pipeline.
