Orioles waste quality start from Burnes, fall 2-0 to Rays

The Orioles entered the weekend hoping to seize control of the AL East. In a home series against a sub-.500 opponent, the offense scored three runs in three days. Baltimore failed to plate a single run this afternoon and fell 2-0 to the Rays at Camden Yards.

Corbin Burnes provided Baltimore a chance to win the game. Baltimore’s ace navigated around base runners for the first five innings before finally making a mistake in the sixth. Burnes issued a leadoff walk to Jonathan Aranda before leaving a flat pitch in the middle of the plate for Jonny DeLuca.
