Orioles use John Means' best start, four homers to crush Mets, 11-2, for fourth straight win

When John Means last pitched, the All-Star left-hander mired in a star-crossed summer posited that he had never pitched worse in his life.

His contribution to the Orioles' emphatic 11-2 win over the New York Mets on Tuesday night at Citi Field will earn no such criticism and was another bright spot in a four-game winning streak full of them for an Orioles team that has played its way back into the playoff conversation.

Means completed six innings for the first time this season, and did so allowing just three hits and a single run on a home run by center fielder Jake Marisnick in the second inning.
