Through so much turnover in the Orioles’ rebuild over the last few years, Trey Mancini has had to shoulder plenty of responsibility in an increasingly inexperienced lineup and particularly felt the need to perform as the group struggled this month.
With a home run off Yankees starter Jordan Montgomery as part of a three-hit game in Thursday’s 4-3, walk-off win against New York, Mancini is slowly getting back to the top productive form he carried before his 2020 colon cancer diagnosis knocked his career off course.
“I was definitely putting a lot of pressure on myself and it was tough,” Mancini said.
