The Baltimore Orioles may not be in the World Series this season, but some awards are bigger than baseball.
On Thursday, MLB players voted Orioles first baseman/designated hitter Trey Mancini as the 2021 American League Comeback Player of the Year.

Nobody would have been surprised if Mancini decided to step away from baseball in 2020.
During a routine blood test for the Orioles, Mancini was advised to be evaluated further after his iron levels were low.
