Orioles, Trey Mancini agree to one-year contract, mutual option for 2023

The Baltimore Orioles on Saturday announced they have agreed to terms on a one-year deal with infielder/outfielder Trey Mancini, avoiding arbitration.

The deal is worth $7.5 million this season with a mutual option for the 2023. The option is $10 million with a $250,000 buyout, according to Dan Connolly of The Athletic.

The news comes after it was reported that Mancini's agent submitted an $8 million proposal. The Orioles countered with $7,375,000, according to Connolly. Mancini will be a free agent following the 2022 season.

Mancini, 30, battled Stage 3 colon cancer and missed the entire 2020 season.
