Their hopes of avoiding long years in the doldrums depend on getting more numerous and more certain prospects than that.
The Yankees are the latest team to be rumored to be involved for the chase for Machado. They could use him because he’s a great player and they will need all the help they can get to finish the season ahead of the Red Sox and avoid the wild card game.
