Less than a day after trading Trey Mancini to the Houston Astros, the Orioles are finalizing another trade, this time with closer Jorge Lopez.
Lopez will reportedly be traded to the Minnesota Twins for four minor league pitchers: LHP Cade Povich, right-handed reliever Yennier Cano, RHP Juan Nunez and LHP Juan Rojas.
Lopez joined the Orioles in 2020 after being a part of the Kansas City Royals.
López, 29, went 4-6 with 19 saves, 54 strikeouts, and a 1.68 ERA (9 ER/48.1 IP) over 44 appearances with the Orioles this season. He was named to his first career All-Star Game.
