Another Orioles starting rotation target came off the board today when free-agent right-hander Doug Fister agreed to terms with the Houston Astros on a one-year contract.
Fister will receive a base salary of $7 million in 2016 with incentives that could raise the total value of the deal to $12 million, according to MLB Daily Dish, which first reported the signing.
The Orioles were interested in Fister, seeing him as an intriguing bounce-back candidate who could give them a high reward following a rocky 2015 season with the Washington Nationals.
