Orioles right-hander Miguel Gonzalez strong in his final spring training outing

SARASOTA, Fla. – Miguel Gonzalez might have been pitching for his rotation spot on Tuesday evening, and the veteran right-hander delivered his best start of spring straining in his final Grapefruit League outing.

Gonzalez allowed just one run over five innings against the Atlanta Braves, posting both his longest outing of the spring and tying the fewest runs he’s allowed in Grapefruit League play.

“I know it’s toward the end and I wanted to get a good outing just to feel better,” Gonzalez said. “Mentally and overall I did good. … It’s one of those days that I felt good with everything.
