Orioles right-hander Alex Cobb, whose start was pushed back two days to accommodate a lingering blister on his pitching hand, left Tuesday’s outing against the Oakland Athletics after just two innings of work.
The Orioles didn’t immediately announce the reason for Cobb’s early departure, but it is presumed to be related to his blister issue.
Orioles manager Buck Showalter has lauded the way the team’s athletic training staff, specifically head trainer Brian Ebel, has kept Cobb from missing a start, but before Tuesday’s game, he added that the team is regularly keeping an eye on the issue.
