The Orioles announced Wednesday that they have released left-handed reliever Wesley Wright, who the club designated for assignment on July 15.
Wright, 30, signed a one-year, $1.7 million deal with the Orioles in December, and the club will be on the hook for the remainder of his contract, save for the prorated minimum if he were to sign with another team.
Wright appeared in just two games with the Orioles before going on the disabled list April 11 with a strained left trapezius. He allowed one run on two hits in 1 2/3 innings for a 5.
