The Orioles used Sunday’s oblique strain suffered by utility man Steve Wilkerson to add right-hander Yefry Ramírez back to the active roster, making him a candidate to start Wednesday against the Philadelphia Phillies.
Ramírez last pitched Thursday for the Orioles with five innings of scoreless, three-hit relief behind Jimmy Yacabonisagainst the Seattle Mariners,. Both were sent back to Norfolk a day later.
The Orioles were able to add him to the roster inside the 10-day required waiting period because of the injury to Wilkerson. He was pulled from Sunday’s win over the Los Angeles Angels after he collected his first two-hit game in the big leagues.
